when the devil wants to dance with you ,
YOU BETTER SAY NEVER

The colder the nights the harder it is to find people out later. The only good thing about this time of the year was the dark came earlier meaning the creatures of the night could come out earlier. That's why Isadora was in the village at 11.30 at night, enjoying the sounds that came from every direction but not seeing what she wanted. The streets were barely empty, just a few stumbling fools on their way home. She hated the taste of alcoholic blood, it was an acquired taste but it was better than going for healthy blood. At least a drunk wouldn't remember what happened. A smile played at her lips as she approached a more desirable man. She sashayed past him, and he couldn't help but follow her down the street and between two closed shops into the alley.
She waited for him, his hands catching hers in a tight grip but not as tight as what she could manage. His lips tried to find hers in the dark but she turned her head and his lips found her throat. It was an intimate touch that made her stomach curl with disgust. In a flash, she had swapped the table. She flicked him round so he was against the wall, her hand snapped over his mouth to keep him shut and her teeth ready to sink into the pale skin. She grazed them slowly, feeling the slow, dull heartbeat quicken beneath her lips then she bit down at the right point.
The taste of blood made her clamp down harder, the liquid slowly dripping down her throat and the man beneath her slumped against her. She dropped her hand from his mouth and as the heartbeat slowed again, she stepped back before she could kill him. He would be fine in an hour or two, and she felt full for the night. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, licking the blood she found there, and skipped back into the main street.
